Apply for charity funding of up to £5,000!

Royal Surrey Charity’s Greatest Need Fund competition is now open for applications. 

This is an exciting opportunity for all staff from across Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust to apply for charity funding of up to £5,000, for projects that support our patients and staff at the Royal Surrey and our hospitals in the community at Haslemere, Milford and Cranleigh.

As our Trust's dedicated NHS charity, Royal Surrey Charity helps fund extraordinary care for patients by providing state of the art equipment, renovating and redeveloping wards and departments, investing in staff wellbeing and development, and funding innovative research.

How to apply?

We understand that staff are busy and that many existing processes can often feel both complicated and time-consuming. That’s why we’ve simplified the process for this competition, making it easier for you to apply and potentially secure funding for your projects. To apply, download and complete the application form and then submit it back to us at [email protected] by Monday 10 June.  

The process is split into two stages:

Stage 1

Applications must be received by Monday 10 June. The charity team will then evaluate your responses and inform applicants of the outcome by Monday 24 June. Successful applicants will progress to Stage 2. 

Stage 2

Applicants may be asked to provide further information in advance of Stage 2 judging. This will be decided on a case-by-case basis. Applicants can include appendices and additional information that they believe will be useful with their application form. Applicants will be invited to present their ideas to members of the charity’s Charitable Funds Committee. This will also be an opportunity for the committee to ask any questions before making their final decisions.

Key dates

Friday 10 May: Greatest Need Fund competition launches 

Monday 10 June: Stage 1 application submission deadline 

Monday 24 June: Stage 1 judging completed and applicants informed of outcome and whether they will be progressing to Stage 2. Successful applicants may be provided with feedback and given an opportunity to update their applications, or provide further information in advance of providing their application for final submission.

Monday 15 July: Deadline for submitting Stage 2 applications

Week commencing 22 July: Stage 2 applicants invited to present ideas to the charity’s Charitable Funds Committee (via Teams, dates and times TBC).

Week commencing 29 July: Successful projects and initiatives announced.

Week commencing 5 August: Projects can start with funding now available to use.
