Debbie Bailey and friends raise an incredible £30,000 for charity

June 2018

Debbie Bailey, a former patient of St Luke's Cancer Centre, took on the Three Peaks Challenge in June 2018.

Together with eight intrepid explorers, she battled the elements to make it to all three summits.

Debbie said: "Goodness me that was indeed a challenge! Storm Hector and his mates certainly threw everything they had at us and at one point we were even looking at alternative lake walks as the weather looked too awful and unsafe.

"Ben Nevis was literally four seasons in one day, Scarfell Pike felt like being hosed down by a fire brigade for five hours and Snowdon was nil visibility along the ridge. However, we went forth and we conquered all three summits, and the sense of achievement is huge."

Debbie and her team raised over £30,000 to support patients at St Luke's with breast cancer.

Thank you to Debbie and the team; your hard work and determination will make a huge difference to our patients.
