Guildford Theatre supports Royal Surrey County Hospital Charity in festive style

Friday 14 December 2018

The staff and cast of Cinderella at Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre invited local businesses to join them in donning their Christmas jumpers and festive headwear in support of our Christmas Jumper Day today (14 December).

In seasonal style, the team at the Guildford Theatre showcased their technicolour festive knits, decorated with everything from reindeer antlers and snowmen, to robins and penguins, and elves and Christmas puddings.

In a bid to spread some festive cheer, they invited local businesses to get involved too and were joined by Experience Guildford, The Guildford Institute, G Live, Guildford Shakespeare Company, Tunsgate Quarter and, of course, Royal Surrey County Hospital Charity.

As part of Christmas Jumper Day, the Theatre would like to put the spotlight on celebrating the exceptional care provided by Royal Surrey County Hospital.

It's not too late to take part. If you’re feeling festive and you can make a donation for wearing your festive knit, all money raised from the initiative will support patients at Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, helping to provide state-of-the-art equipment, redevelop wards to make them more welcoming, and fund innovative research.

Analiese Doctrove, Head of Fundraising at Royal Surrey County Hospital Charity, said:

Thank you to everyone at Yvonne Arnaud Theatre and the cast of Cinderella for supporting our Christmas Jumper Day – it was wonderful to see so many turn up on stage in their winter woollies! We’re extremely grateful to all the local businesses that joined in too. There’s still time to take part – choose a day, grab a festive jumper and help raise money and awareness to transform lives in your community.
