News Easter eggs spread joy at Royal Surrey We are incredibly grateful for the wonderful support we’ve received this Easter. Thanks to the kindness of our local community and businesses, thousands of Easter eggs have been donated to bring joy to patients spending this festive season in the hospital. A huge shoutout to the following companies for donating 2,031 eggs over the past two weeks: EA Games Surrey Connect Fuse Games Coop Funeral Care Hale Masonic Lodge Access Storage MTX Contracts Holiday Inn Virgin Media Setford DMH Stallard Cranleigh Country Club Brickfield Construction Surrey County Council Ideal Health Alexandra Pub Gordons Partnership BAM Avery Sophies Legacy Synergy Farnham Rugby Club These Easter eggs were distributed to Hascombe ward (our children's ward), children’s outpatients, cancer wards, and adults and older people at Milford Community Hospital and Royal Surrey County Hospital who were spending Easter with us. Victoria Greenshields, Corporate and Major Donor Fundraising Manager at Royal Surrey Charity, said:“A hospital can be an overwhelming and unfamiliar place, but small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference. Giving Easter eggs is a simple yet powerful way to show patients they are thought of, bringing smiles and moments of joy when they’re needed most. For children, it helps soften a clinical and often anxiety-inducing experience, making it feel more human and comforting. For those undergoing cancer treatment, it offers a welcome distraction and a touch of brightness during long and challenging days. And for elderly patients who may feel isolated or forgotten, it brings a sense of connection, warmth, and gentle celebration – reminding them they are seen, valued, and not alone. On behalf of our wards and patients, I would like to thank all those companies and community groups that have supported this appeal. Without their help, we could not provide patients with this moment of joy.” If you'd like to support world class care at your local NHS hospital, you can make a big difference by making a donation today.
