Fundraising group hosts black-tie event in Farnham

Friday 14 February 2025: Friends of Royal Surrey Charity, a dedicated community fundraising group, is delighted to announce its 30th anniversary Gala Dinner, a black-tie event supporting Royal Surrey Charity's vital Cancer and Surgical Innovation Campaign. The event will take place on Friday 28 March 2025, at the Park Suite of the Hog’s Back Hotel in Farnham.

This special evening, organised by the Friends of Royal Surrey Charity, promises an unforgettable experience, featuring a reception drink, a delicious three-course dinner, and dancing to the fantastic sounds of swing band, Freddy and the Fedoras. Guests will also be entertained by the incredible magic of Richard Kettle and the beautiful piano melodies of Maureen Galea.

The event is made possible through the generous support of sponsors CHD Living and Surrey AI Centre, which will mean funds raised can go directly to enhancing the new surgical centre, which aims to revolutionise surgery in Surrey and the South East. Building work began last year on the centre, which will house six new operating theatres and help to build on Royal Surrey’s world-class services in robotic and non-robotic surgery.

As a regional centre for cancer services, the Royal Surrey supports a population of up to 3 million (around 4.5% of the UK’s population) and is home to the fourth largest cancer centre in the country.

Adding a touch of sparkle to the evening Simon Pure at Smithbrook Kilns has generously donated an 'Angel Wing' pendant. Some exquisite pearls have also been donated which Simon Pure has incorporated into the chain to create a beautiful unique bespoke necklace to honour the charity’s Pearl Anniversary. Floating Fancies are also supporting the evening by providing a balloon arch.

With a long career in healthcare before entering Parliament, I know just how vital these improvements are for patients and staff alike. Having twice tackled the fifty-mile Farnham Charity Bike Ride with their team, I’m looking forward to an event that’s a little less strenuous - something that raises funds without also raising my heart rate!"

Tickets for the gala are £80 per person and include a reception drink, dinner and entertainment. The evening will also feature a raffle, live and online auctions, and a fun game of Heads and Tails.
