The difference you make Mark's story Mark, 50, took part in this year’s Surrey Half Marathon and has raised an incredible £4,473 for the charity so far. Mark is Managing Director at Hawco, a leading UK supplier of refrigeration, heating and control components. He tells us why he wanted to help us transform patients’ lives. Mark on why he supports us I was motivated to support Royal Surrey County Hospital Charity initially by one of our key staff members, Katrina – since birth, her daughter has received treatment and ongoing support at Royal Surrey County Hospital. “As I found out more about the charity and the work it does to enhance the hospital, I wanted to support to help make sure children and parents who visit the hospital - like Katrina and her daughter - have the best experience.” After recently getting back into running, a charity place in Surrey Half Marathon seemed a great opportunity to provide focus for my training and more importantly, raise some money for this very worthy cause. It is such a personal cause for our staff too; many of whom have either used the hospital or have seen friends or family treated there. “ The fundraising team made it all very easy for me and throughout the build up and following the race have maintained good contact and encouragement, for which I am very appreciative.” Inspired?
