News ChariTEE appeal raises funds for Gaming Carts A huge thank you to Dick Tee, whose ChariTEE appeal has raised an incredible £10,000 – more than triple his original target – to fund gaming carts for young patients. Thanks to the amazing generosity of his supporters, Dick has donated two brand-new Nintendo Switch Medical Gaming Carts to Hascombe Ward at Royal Surrey. These carts will provide entertainment, distraction, and comfort to children and young people during their hospital stay. The impact of this donation has already been felt. Natasha Wellman, Play Specialist at Hascombe Ward, shared: “This is very generous of you, and it will benefit so many children and young people on the ward. Thank you so much for thinking of us. Two gaming carts is very generous, and we really appreciate the kind generous gesture, fundraising and effort you have organised and participated in.” After hearing about the fundraising effort, one young patient and their sibling created a handmade thank you card for Dick – an incredibly touching gesture. He said: “Understandably, this made me quite emotional, and it hit home just what a great thing all the appeal supporters have done in raising such a large sum of money that can be put to such good use.” Thanks to the success of the appeal, additional funds will also support gaming carts at St. Peter’s Hospital and Oxford Children's Hospital, ensuring even more young patients benefit from interactive play and entertainment during their treatment. We are so grateful to Dick Tee and everyone who supported this fantastic fundraiser. Your kindness is making a real difference to the children and young people in our care. Our Children’s Fund supports sick children and their families, who are cared for on our children’s ward (Hascombe), as well as in our children’s outpatients department.
