Dementia affects nearly 1 million people in the UK. Around half of people aged over 70 years, who are admitted to hospital as an emergency, have a cognitive disorder such as a dementia. Currently around 25% of hospital beds are occupied by people who are living with dementia. Hospital can be frightening and unfamiliar places to those patients who are living with dementia.

Here at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust we are always striving to ensure that those who are affected by dementia have a positive experience by receiving the very best care, in a dementia friendly environment.

The funds raised will go directly on materials, activity resources and dementia related equipment. As well as positive dementia friendly design concepts to ensure a home from home environment is achieved.
