Our Cardiac Care Fund supports people with heart conditions, who are cared for by our incredible staff on Merrow Ward and the Cardiac Care Unit, as well as our outpatient services at the Royal Surrey and our hospitals in the community at Haslemere and Cranleigh.

The hospital’s cardiology department deals with the diagnosis and treatment of conditions like coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and heart rhythm disturbances.

By donating to our Cardiac Care Fund, you are helping make sure people with heart conditions receive exceptional care in a welcoming and comfortable setting.

Your donation could help:

  • Fund state-of-the-art equipment and technology
  • Enhance the experience of our patients by funding comfortable and welcoming spaces
  • Support staff wellbeing so our amazing NHS staff can provide extraordinary care
  • Invest in research, training and education

The difference you make

Thanks to your support, our cardiology department received over £25,000 to fund a state of the art treadmill system, which will help diagnose narrow or blocked arteries in patients with heart problems. Medication is normally used to cause stress for the heart, so medical staff can monitor and record any issues. Exercise on the treadmill can now replace the drugs, to put the same stress on the heart in a more natural way.

The cardio treadmill, funded by Royal Surrey Charity, has made a tremendous impact on diagnosis of heart disease in our local community. It picks up cardiac problems quickly, and allows us to better assess risk levels of our patients. Thanks to this equipment, we are expanding our service and enhancing the reputation of ECHO services in the region.
