So I am running this event as I had reached out to The Royal Surrey County Hospital earlier this year to see if I could volunteer while I was out of work. I was just keen to help in anyway I could, whether it be to do admin, sell Christmas cards or even go into the wards and sing carols for those who had been in hospital for a while. I got through to the lovely Sally and she explained that she was hugely under staffed, but her hands were tied, as she couldn't go ahead with any fund raising events, to raise important funds that they so desperately needed. We discussed selling cards at length and even put wheels in motion, but the risk of people gathering closely was just too high. Needless to say, we couldn't go ahead.

A little background on me, I am singer, and had been self employed in Lanzarote for 2 years until Covid struck. I did 54 days in lockdown on my own, and then when I could I was on the first flight home, having run out of money and having to leave all my belongings in Lanzarote. When I was home I was lucky enough to be asked to do some festive gigs at the wonderful Foxhills Country Club. What a life line this was! Absolutely desperate to get a mic back in hand, I was thrilled to be booked for the festive season. However, as many of you may know, the government announced that Surrey enters into Tier 4 as of today (20th Dec) , so therefore the Christmas events have had to be cancelled.

With a heavy heart I understood the news but was devastated. However, this is where I thought of not only those who had bought their tickets to these events, who would now be disappointed at the cancellation, but so many others that can't meet and celebrate the festive Eve of Christmas. That tied in with the Hospital, and so many patients that can't even have visitors, I thought we can (like everything else this year) do it virtually!

So here it is... I will be going ahead with my Christmas Eve gig Live from my home at 6pm to not only spread festive cheer but to raise money and awareness for the wonderful Royal Surrey County Hospital.

Anything you could spare would be amazing, however generous. I know that so many have had such a tough year, but hopefully we can raise some money for a wonderful cause!
