Get involved Give Pledge a Present 2021 Donate Fundraise Help spread some festive cheer... For the past five years, we have seen incredible support for our Christmas patient gift giving appeals, Christmas Shoe Box and Pledge a Present, which has meant thousands of patients in hospital at Christmas have received a gift to help brighten their day. Sadly due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, we're not able to accept donations of pre-filled shoeboxes again this year. The good news is that Pledge a Present is back! With your help we are still working hard to ensure those in hospital at Christmas aren't forgotten and by donating to Pledge a Present you can make their Christmas wish come true. Last year with visitor restrictions in place, every gift that was bought with your generous donations helped brighten a patients Christmas day. “I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the lovely Christmas gift my husband, Richard, received from you on Christmas Day. Richard was in hospital for a month over Christmas and obviously missing visits from his family and friends. Your thoughtfulness made all the difference so thank you once again.” - Jan, whose husband spent last Christmas in hospital. You can make that difference for patients like Richard again this year. Here's how it works Make a donation to our Pledge a Present Appeal, which could buy a virtual gift for a patient We will then create a Gift Bag filled with useful gifts for each adult patient in hospital this Christmas, following strict infection control procedures, and deliver these to wards. The gifts will then be safely distributed over the Christmas period by our amazing NHS staff. Download a poster to let your friends, family and community know how they can get involved and donate. Click on the flyer.pdf below to download, print and share! flyer.pdf Each gift bag will contain: Something to wear, such as gloves, hat or a pair of socks Something to eat, such as chocolates, a packet of biscuits or sweets Something to do, such as a puzzle book or pack of cards Toiletries such as shower gel or hand cream A small gift, such as a cotton handkerchief or a cracker. Here's how your donation could make a difference* £20 could buy a gift bag filled with Christmas goodies for one patient £60 could fund three festive gift bags for patients away from loved ones this Christmas £120 could buy gift bags for a whole room of patients in one of our wards. Give the greatest gift this Christmas - a reason for someone to smile After the past year, spreading a little festive cheer and giving someone a reason to smile has never been more needed. Please consider making a donation today of £20, or an amount of your choice, to help brighten someone’s day. Thank you for your support. Donate now *If we raise more than is needed for the appeal, we will put your donation towards the area of greatest need within the hospital.
