Register interest > About the event Over 12,000 runners take part in the marathon, enjoying a course that starts in Preston Park, snakes its way through the city centre, along the glorious seafront and finishes at the iconic Madeira Drive in front of thousands of cheering spectators. The course bests for the men and women are well under 2hrs 10min and 2hrs 29min, making it the second-fastest marathon in the UK. It is also the second-largest marathon in the UK and eighth-largest in Europe. Since the first Brighton Marathon in 2010, the Brighton Marathon has grown dramatically to become the Brighton Marathon Weekend attracting larger numbers of runners and spectators each year to the city. Why run for us? Run for #TeamRoyalSurrey and help transform care for patients treated at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. Patients like Adam, who was diagnosed with cancer at just 23 years old. Adam benefited from peer support groups run by Royal Surrey County Hospital’s Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Service (TYAC), which the charity funds. “You always have that fear and anxiety that [the cancer] might return.
